In order to see if the NTP setting on the v-switch is able to reach it’s NTP server you can use the following command:
Login as root
Then type> ntpdate –d x.x.x.x (time server address)
If the address of the NTP is reachable….you will see something like the following:
transmit (192.168.4.21)
receive (192.168.4.21)
transmit (192.168.4.21)
receive (192.168.4.21)
etc…
ntpdate: step time server 192.168.4.21 offset 52.378626 sec — Success
If your NTP address is not reachable or it is invalid you will receive the following:
transmit (192.168.4.21)
transmit (192.168.4.21)
transmit (192.168.4.21)
transmit (192.168.4.21)
ntpdate: no server suitable for synchronization found — Failure
