• Discovery - Discovery helps all parties involved to understand the goals and requirements of the project. Existing information about the existing architecture and goals of the new project are discussed, helping to ensure that common expectations are set for everyone.
• Terminal Services/MetaFrame Design – Begins by analyzing information on the existing infrastructure and network to understand the applications, types of servers, topology, protocol configuration, TCP/IP configuration, Domains, remote access needs, etc. This information is vital for establishing the design of the architecture. The LANtelligence services team then defines the logical architecture to support your requirements specifically for your environment. A project plan is created that outlines key tasks and timeframes along with a test plan to ensure all phases of the configuration are properly tested during implementation.
• Terminal Services/MetaFrame Pilot – Provides a practical approach to test server-based computing concepts that may include integrating legacy applications, testing new applications, latency and other factors in a controlled environment. Based on the results of the pilot, the logical and physical designs of the server architecture will be updated along with any special implementation activities
• Application Benchmarking – The service addresses the scalability and viability of applications, where specialized tools are used to simulate WAN traffic and metrics are gathered. The results are analyzed and recommendations on installing, performance tuning, and design of the architecture best suited for the applications will be documented.
• Implementation – The formal installation service tasks for the implementation may include the following:
• Installing the MetaFrame and/or Terminal Servers, loading the operating systems, tuning the operating system.
• Install the appropriate Citrix or Terminal Services licenses.
• Install, integrate and perform compatibility testing for required applications. Then publish them, as required.
• Publish Web and 32-bit applications into a common web interface using Citrix NFuse technology.
• Deploy Citrix Secure Gateway for protecting and securing ICA traffic over the Internet.
• Configure and test MetaFrame and Terminal Services end user access configurations and polices.
• Complete the customer documentation for the system, configurations, policies, profiles, and testing conducted during the installation.
